On the morning of 2 2nd December 2018, Ceres Rail (former SAR) class 19D 4-8-2 no, 3321 "Jessica" makes a huge exhaust as it approaches Sir Lowrys Village and the climb to the pass of the same name, leading to Grabouw and its destination at Elgin. Coupled to it and running in reverse is sister 19D No. 3322. Both locos are oil fired, to avoid veldt fires in the Capes hot, dry summer.
