On 31st August 2017 Mission Mountain Railroad GP39-2 No. 3946 is pictured at the Columbia Falls end of the 13-mile Kalispell branch in Northwestern Montana. The Armour Yellow paint of former owner Union Pacific has seen better days but is still instantly recognisable. Mission Mountain Railroad took over the branch line in 2004 but as of 1st April 2020, control returned to BNSF.
