RegionAlps RBDe 560 401-2 RA01 forming the 9:04 Brig to St-Gingolph service, pictured at 11:01 on 30th May 2020, departs from Bouveret. The last 17 km of the "Tonkin" line from the Swiss border at St-Gingolph to Evian in France is abandoned. The line was used for freight until 1988, but the last passengers carried were prisoners of war being returned home at the end of the Second World War. Various projects have looked into re-opening the line which could take some of the many French commuters who drive across the border daily to work in Swithzerland.
