Although GWR Class 769 Flex units have yet to enter revenue earning service on the North Downs Line, each week usually sees driver training and mileage accumulation runs. 10th August 2022, was one such day and saw No. 769959 pass the site of the former Ash Junction working the first run of the day, 09.15 from Reading Traincare Depot to Redhill. Ash Junction was the original direct line from Guildford to Farnham via Tongham but was fully closed in the 1960's.
