GWR Castle Class No. 7029 'Clun Castle' arrives into a wet Appleby on 22nd April 2023 working The Cumbrian Mountaineer Express railtour. The train arrived from Birmingham New Street, with the passengers alighted for a break, allowing the train to be shunted into the adjacent sidings. After a 2 hour break the train continued north as the 1532 Appleby to Birmingham New Street. It is believed this is the first time Clun Castle has visited Appleby since 1967!
