Following the failure of steam haulage on the scheduled Northern Belle Pullman Dining service on 29th April 2023 WCRC allocated its Class 86/4 86401 Mons Meg to the train. It is here noted passing Euxton while working the Preston - Coventry leg of the service with Class 57/3 No. 57313 Scarborough Castle providing rear-end support.
