On 18th May 2023, the penultimate day of Southern's use of Class 313 units No. 313219 passes Canal foot crossing soon after leaving Barnham working the 15.52 from Barnham to Bognor Regis. The crossing is on the alignment of part of the former Portsmouth and Arundel canal between Ford and Hunston which opened in 1823 and closed in 1847 with the opening of the railway.
