Due to the closure of the direct Shrewsbury - Crewe for engineering works the 2-hourly Cardiff Central - Manchester Piccadilly services were diverted via Wrexham and curtailed at Crewe. On 19th July 2025 DVT Class 82/2 82230, powered from the rear by Class 67 No. 67015, curves into Chester with one such diverted service.
