Irish Rail 121 class No. 124 is seen working its first train in preservation - a demonstration loaded ballast run-past - on 23rd August 2025 at the Downpatrick and County Down Railway's excellent diesel gala. The loco arrived from long-term storage at Moyasta only in June and the Irish Traction Group have done an excellent job of getting it started and running again. They also managed to keep the fact it would be working trains at the gala secret, so its appearance was here was met with delight from the crowds at this sold-out event.
