Irish Rail 121 class No. 124 is seen about to depart from Downpatrick on its first ever passenger working in preservation, at the Downpatrick and County Down Railway's excellent diesel gala on 23rd August 2025.
The loco arrived from long-term storage at Moyasta only in June and the Irish Traction Group have done an excellent job of getting it started and running again, the latter aspect they somehow even managed to keep as a secret for those attending the sold-out event.
