The East Lancs Railway held a Winter Diesel Day on 10th January 2009, using several of the Bury fleet of locos to operate the usual Saturday timetable. Problems earlier in the day meant that Class 50 No. 50015 'Valiant' had been unable to work its scheduled diagram but managed to make an appearance for the last round trip of the day, top-and-tailing with Class 40 No. D335. The BR Large Logo machine is seen here under darkening skies at Ramsbottom with the 16:30 Rawtenstall to Bury Bolton Street service.
