Direct Rail Services Class 37s No. 37218 and 37425 'Sir Robert McAlpine / Concrete Bob' race through Mossley as they descend from Diggle with the 06:19 Bristol Temple Meads to Bolton outward leg of Pathfinder Tours' 'The Pennine Wayfarer' railtour on 12th March 2022. Having made its way north via Birmingham and Derby, the train traversed the Hope Valley route before bypassing Manchester to join the Calder Valley route via Hebden Bridge. It then headed through Huddersfield and back west via the Standedge route to complete three Pennine crossings.
