With the WCML closed between Gretna Junction and Carstairs and likely to be so until the end of the month, Virgin Trains are running hourly shuttles between Carlisle and Glasgow Central via the Glasgow & South Western route through Dumfries and Kilmarnock. One such shuttle formed of Voyager Class 221 No. 221106 crosses Crawick viaduct, between Sanquhar and Kirkconnel, with the 14:22 Glasgow - Carlisle service on 11th January 2016.
