At the previous museum at Derby Silk Mill that closed in 2011 there was limited room for Railwayana. Now as the Museum of Making there is a vast collection of Railway artefacts displayed, mainly associated with the Midland Railway and Derby. Examples seen here are the nameplate 'Tyrwhitt' from LMS Stanier Jubilee Class No. 45657, built at Derby in 1934 (1 0f 10), and the nameplate 'The Girl Guide', from LMS Royal Scot No. 46168, one oFowler parallel boilered examples also built at Derby.
