On what believed to be the final movement of redundant 'Southern' Class 455 EMUs for scrapping at Newport Dock (Sims Group), it is the first occasion that a Class 69 has been entrusted to provide the motive power for these workings. In this view taken at Patchway, GBRf Class 69 No. 69001 'Mayflower' wheels the 10:38 departure from Stewarts Lane hauling Class 455/8s Nos. 455819 and 455804 with two 'Arlington Fleet Group' barriers, Nos. 64664 'Liwet' and 64707 'Labezerin' on an overcast 16th August 2022.
