BR Class 47 No. 47420 passes Shipley on 8th April 1978 on a Leeds to Carlisle train. As part of the Aire Valley electrication scheme in the 1990s, the Shipley Bingley Junction signal box was decommissioned and transferred to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Also platforms have been built on the Leeds to Skipton side of the triangle.
