I've had this photo in mind for some time but the sun is not right in the afternoon. Only an early morning shot would see the sun on the right side and then I don't believe at any time of day could you get the sun to illuminate both the front and side of the train. When I left the house I only decided to head to this point as solid'ish light cloud was about which was exactly what I wanted. As soon as I arrived the sun came out fully and consequently I had serious issues with shadow, I was in the wrong spot but it was way too late to relocate as the 20's were right behind this train. This is 170113 on the diverted 10.25 Stansted Airport - Birmingham New Street working on Sunday 5th February 2011.
