On the 2nd July 2021, single DRS Class 37 No. 37423 Spirit of the Lakes", leads the second part of The Europort Explorer from Carlisle to York, via the S&C, promoted by the Branch Line Society. Originally advertised as being two Class 37's, classmate No. 37419 "Carl Haviland 1954-2012" had failed at Culgaith, just to the north of Appleby. It took sometime to remove No. 37419 and the railtour passes Appleby station, 98 minutes late. Immediately behind No. 37423 is DB Cargo Class 66/0 No. 66053, while at the rear is classmate No. 66044. Both Class 66s had worked the first part of the rail tour from Edinburgh to Glassgow and the Glasgow and South Western route to Carlisle, in T&T mode.
