One train that did manage to operate during a day of chaos at Carlisle Citadel station on 23rd May 2024, was the Settle and Carlisle Fellsman rail charter, promoted by Saphos Trains. In this view, LSL Class 47 No. 47810 / D1924 'Crewe Diesel Depot' has brought the stock of the returning rail charter into platform 4, given that GBRf Class 92 No. 92028 with the stabled Caledonian Sleeper stock is still occupying platform 3: the platform normally used for returning rail charters at Carlisle Citadel Station. Out of sight at the front of the rail charter is Gresley A4 Pacific No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley'. The returning rail charter left on time at 15.08, to become the first train to traverse the S&C today, due to flooding between Armathwaite and Lazonby.
