At lunchtime on 3rd February 2025 some confusion and delay occurred at Carlisle Citadel Station, due to a vehicle colliding with the bridge over Crown street, which is just to the south of the station.
As a result, this Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolino, No. 390040, working the 10.38 Avanti West Coast service from Glasgow Central to London Euston, was directed into platform 3, where it was held for 15 minutes before departure.
To the right a GBRf Class 66/7 No. 66704 'Colchester Power Signalbox' is held for 20 minutes in 'C' Road at the station, while working : the 11.25 empty cement tanks service from Carlisle Yard to Castle Cement at Clitheroe.
