Pictured at Parkend not long after the commissioning of the new signalbox now looking after operations at Parkend on the Dean Forest Railway is ex GWR 4575 Class 2-6-2T 'Prairie Tank' No. 5541, a long standing resident of the heritage line. This locomotive has recently been withdrawn for it's 10 year boiler overhaul, replaced by the DFR's Class 57xx No. 9681 pannier tank, with a second, No. 9682, formerly based at Southall, expected to enter traffic next year.
