An Indian Summer was forecasted to start on 9th October 2010, the first of two days during which the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway held a gala commemorating the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the English Electric Type 3 Co-Co diesel locomotives, now known as Class 37. However, 9th October 2010 was very overcast with low cloud cover and poor lighting conditions for photographers, the Indian Summer would have to wait! Seen passes the road entrance to the Big Pit museum in Blaenavon is No. 37421 tailing the 12.30 from Furnace Sidings to Blaenavon High Level.
