A couple of weeks after the Railway Touring Company's 'Great Britain VI' Steam Dreams toured Britain with the ecumenically titled 'The Cathedrals Explorer' and it also was much changed between initial publicity and execution, both in terms of route and haulage. Between Bristol and Shrewsbury on 10th May 2013, the planned route was via the Heart of Wales line utilising No. 61994 (The Great Marquess) but on the day LNER A4 No. 60009 (Union of South Africa) worked 1Z31, the 18:40 Cardiff Central to Shrewsbury via the Welsh Marches and is seen in this image approaching Abergavenny in very poor light at 19:45.
