The signals just behind the leading power car are living on borrowed time. Trent power box, the wonder of the age when it opened in 1969, has seen large chunks of its former area of control taken over by the new Derby IECC but Nottingham station and environs are still controlled from Trent. New troughing and other materials can be seen line side as work progresses with the East Midlands resignalling scheme which will see Nottingham station come under the control of Derby from 2013. East Midlands Trains No. 43046 (with 43083 out of shot) powers the 11.28 Nottingham - St Pancras service past Lenton South Junction at 11.33 on Saturday 2nd July 2011.
