The platforms at Yate are split with the one for northbound workings behind the train and the southbound one in the foreground. On 11th August 2011, First Great Western Class 150/2 number No. 150249 works the 13.41 from Bristol Temple Meads to Gloucester. Immediately in front of the train may be seen the 'mothballed' branch diverging to Tytherington Quarry.
