With only two days before it is due to close, Stourbridge Junction Signal Box oversees the departure of LM Class 172 DMU No. 172337 on 23rd August 2012, forming 2C16, the 09:25 service to Dorridge. Built by the GWR in 1901, Stourbridge Junction Middle Signal Box was a Type 7B design with a 91 double twist lever frame. It is the sole survivor of the three boxes originally provided. The box was re-locked in 1978 and reduced to 60 levers before having a control panel fitted in 1990.
