Contrasting Type 3 front ends at Thornaby MPD on 6th April 1969, one in green livery with split headcode panels, the other in blue livery with centre headcode panel and mini snowploughs. D6767 was new from English Electric in November 1962 and first allocated to Thornaby (51L). It became No. 37067 under TOPS and finally No. 37703. The loco returned to the UK on 29th August 2012 after a period working in France and is currently stored at Dollands Moor. D6823 was new from Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn in April 1963 and first allocated to Cardiff Canton (86A). It became No. 37123 under TOPS and finally No. 37679. The loco was withdrawn in December 2000 and survives at Nemesis Rail, Burton-on-Trent.
