'Teddy Bear' 0-6-0 Class 14 diesel hydaulic No. D9524 at Newport Ebbw Junction on 22nd March 1970, together with WR Independent Snowplough No. DB965236. The loco had been withdrawn from Landore in May 1969, after a BR service life of just four years and four months. Built at Swindon Works in December 1964 and initially allocated to Old Oak Common (81A), it avoided the scrapman and was purchased by British Petroleum for work at the Grangemouth plant in Scotland. It was given the number 144-8 and remained there until it was donated to the Scottish Railway Preservation Society at Falkirk, in August 1981. It is now back in Wales and is currently based at the Gwili Railway.
