Eastfield MPD yard on 5th April 1969 finds Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Co, Type 2 diesel electric No. D5325 and English Electric Type 4 diesel electric No. D263 awaiting their next turn of duty. No. D5325 was new in May 1959 and later became Class 26 No. 26025. It was withdrawn in October 1993 but was saved for preservation and is located at the Strathspey Railway. No. D263 on the other hand, was new in March 1960 and later became Class 40 No. 40063. It was withdrawn in April 1984 and cut up by Vic Berry of Leicester during June 1987.
