On a beautiful Spring day, Brush Type 4 No. D1936 runs through Gloucester on 9th April 1969 with a northbound Class 7 freight working. Unlike many of its scrapped classmates, the loco is currently still in service with DRS and based at Carlisle Kingmoor. New from Loughborough in March 1966 and initially allocated to Bristol Bath Road (82A), it became Class 47 No. 47257 under TOPS in June 1974. The loco was re-numbered again in March 1986 as No. 47650 and finally to its current number 47805 in August 1989. During its service life It has carried four names: 'Bristol Bath Road' from June 1991 until February 1995, 'Pride of Toton' from February 2002 until August 2003, 'Talisman' from September 2006 until September 2011, and finally 'John Scott 12.5.45-22.5.12' from June 2013. The structure at the very left of the picture is the lift shaft at the end of the long footbridge which connected Central and Eastgate stations.
