The severe cant on the track through Platform 9 at Clapham Junction is evident on 19th November 1990 as Class 50 diesel electric No. 50017 'Royal Oak' calls with a London Waterloo - Salisbury service. New from English Electric as No. D417 in April 1968 and named on 24th April 1978, the loco was withdrawn during September 1991. It survives in preservation at the Plym Valley Railway. The footbridge is a thing of beauty.
