On a very cold 17th January 2024, a Colas Class 43, No. 43277 'Safety Task Force', with classmate No. 43272 at the rear, departs from 'A' road at Carlisle citadel station working the 05.36 Network Rail Measurement Train from Carlisle to Mossend Down Yard. In this view the train has already been up to Kilmarnock visiting some of the lines in the south west of Scotland. Having reversed, it is now heading north again but up the WCML to Mossend about 30 minutes late.
