Wilderness areas in the Kennet Valley look rather barren in mid-winter, but this NR technical train adds a splash of uncoordinated colour to the greyness of Hungerford Common on 22nd January 2025. Class 43 HST power cars Nos. 43274 and 43272 are top-and-tailing the formation on an inspection run from Derby RTC to Bristol taking in the Birmingham area, Lickey and the Cotswold line, and out-and-back travel along the Berks and Hants to Weymouth.
