The level crossing at Hungerford carries only a minor road and footpath, but its access to the Tesco store and assorted business units ensures busy usage during the day. All this has come to a halt with the passage of a down IET service and the barriers have stayed down for the imminent arrival of Class 66/6 Nos. 66605 and 66613 with the heavy 10:26 Whatley Quarry to Hanwell Bridge loop aggregates on 5th August 2025.
