On 30th October 1981 Class 47/4 No. 47583 'County of Hertfordshire' is still sporting its extended large-logo livery in which it was turned out for the Stratford works Open Day earlier in the year. Not looking quite so spruce a few months later, the loco is captured pulling away from Manningtree with a London-bound express.
