Class 47/0 No. 47009 approaches Oxford from the south with a cross-country service to Manchester on 21st November 1981. Let's hope the steam heating was working well for this long-distance train. The loco seems to have a Stratford silver grey roof taking it well away from its East London base. It is just on the Botley Rd bridge which has recently been the subject of major reconstruction.
