On the Mayday bank holiday, 7th May 2012, the Railway Touring Company operated an excursion from Nottingham to Llandrindod Wells, steam hauled from Crewe. After a break of about two-hours the excursion departed south as 1Z77, 13.36 Llandrindod Wells to Leicester with LMS Black 5s No's. 45407 and 44871 hauling the train as far as Cardiff Pengam to be replaced by a diesel, and we see the train as it is about to enter Llandeilo station on the Heart of Wales line.
