On 5 July 2012 Arriva Trains Wales Class 67 No. 67003 powers up Llanvihangel Bank and is seen almost at the summit while working 1W91, 16:15 Cardiff Central to Holyhead. This loco-hauled service is sponsored by the Welsh Government and utilised Class 57's until the end of March 2012 when the Class 67's took over. More changes are expected during the coming months by the addition of a Driving Van Trailer to allow easier reversals at both Holyhead and Cardiff, but more importantly at Chester when the service is diverted via Wrexham to serve a greater number of potential passengers in north Wales.
