'Warship' Class diesel hydraulic No. 833 'Panther' is in the process of running-round a parcels train at Exeter St Davids on 17th July 1971. It was new from the North British Locomotive Company, Glasgow, in July 1960 and first allocated to Laira (83D). After a period in store at Old Oak Common and Swindon from March 1969, it was reinstated in September of that year. The loco suffered a failure at Reading on 22nd September 1971 and was withdrawn during the following month, being cut up at Swindon Works in February 1972.
