Class 47/4 No. 47583 'County of Hertfordshire', in revised Network SouthEast livery, waits in Reading Station on 31st March 1990 with an up outer surburban service for Paddington. New to Tinsley MPD in October 1964 as No. D1767 and renumbered under TOPS as No. 47172 in March 1974, the 'County of Hertfordshire' nameplates were fitted while the loco was allocated to Stratford MPD in July 1979. ETH fitment caused a further change in November 1980 to No. 47583, and by the time of this photo the loco was allocated to Old Oak Common MPD. Another identity change took place in March 1996 to No. 47734 and her final years were spent allocated to Toton TMD from where she was withdrawn in February 2004. Disposal took place at EMR Kingsbury during May 2008.
