Class 126 DMBSL SC79100 is seen stored in Ely Goods Yard on 24th June 1978. Used to operate the regular Edinburgh to Glasgow express services these 3 car units were unusual in having a DMBSL vehicle at one end of the unit and a corridor equipped DMBS at the other so that if 2 units were joined together with the corridor vehivles in the middle of the formation passengers had access to all 6 coaches. Sc79100 would suffer another 5 years awaiting her fate but had been dispatched through the Mayer Newman's, Snailwell firing tunnel to clear the vehicle of dangerous asbestos insulation by August 1983.
