Class 27/1 No. 27106 is stripped down for major overhaul inside Glasgow Works on Saturday 3rd June 1978. New to Cricklewood MPD London in June 1962 as No. D5394. A transfer to Eastfield MPD Glasgow was undertaken by 1970 and renumbering under TOPS in April 1974 was done at the same time as conversion to a Class 27/1 No. 27106. Used in a push / pull mode along with a Class 27/2 on the Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh Waverley services until replaced by Class 47/7 locos in the early 80's a final number change to No. 27050 was effected in November 1982. Withdrawal was from Eastfield MPD Glasgow during July 1987 but preservation, rather than scrapping, followed at the Strathspey Railway Aviemore when she can still be found in 2014.
