Class 86/2 electric No. 86258 'Talyllyn - The First Preserved Railway' waits to depart from London Euston on 13th April 1985 with the empty stock of a recent arrival. It was new as AL6 No. E3140 from Doncaster Works in March 1966 and became Class 86/0 No. 86046 under TOPS in February 1974. The loco was re-classified as the original No. 86501 in May 1988 before reverting back to 86258 in January 1990. It also carried the modified name 'Talyllyn 50 Years of Railway Preservation 1951-2001' for a period of time. It was withdrawn in July 2002 and cut up by EMR of Kingsbury during December 2009.
