On 7th June 1992, and wearing Royal Mail Red livery, locally based Crewe Electric EMD Class 86/4 No. 86425 has just arrived in Platform 7 at Crewe Station with a Parcels service from the South. Built by English Electric at Newton le Willows she was delivered to BR in January 1965 as AL6 No. E3186 later becoming Class 86/0 No. 86035 under TOPS reclassification, and in February 1986 following bogie modifications Class 86/4 No. 86425. With the general run down of the class she was withdrawn from service during June 2004 and scrapped by C F Booth at their Rotherham site in Yorkshire during January 2005.
