Class 47/4 No. 47590 'Thomas Telford' in Inter-City Mainline livery and wearing a very small loco number is caught in the watery early morning sun on 23rd March 1989 as she runs light engine through Leeds Station. Delivered in August 1964 to Tinsley MPD as No. D1759 other identities worn by this loco have been Class 47/0 No. 47165 from 1974, Class 47/4 No. 47590 from 1983 and Class 47/4 No. 47825 from 1989. In April 2001 she was converted into the prototype Class 57/6 No. 57601 in which guise she remains in active service although nowadays operated by the West Coast Railway Company from their Carnforth base.
