Class 121 diesel unit L123 No. W55023 'Thames' soon after departure from Paddington on 18th August 1991 with a strangely deserted elevated Western Avenue in the background, probably with a service for Greenford. The single car had the ungainly arrangement of exhaust pipes from its two diesel engines running up between the panes of a cab window at one end, when they would normally have been hidden in the gaps between multiple units.
