At the time one of only two electro-diesel mainline locos which could work throughout the Rhaetian Railway metre gauge system No. 801 'Steinbok' is coming off the summit of the Bernina route through to Italy with a passenger service to Tirano on 13th September 1993. The loco is working in multiple with one of the Bernina line's ABe4/4 electric railcars navigating the reverse curves in the late summer 'lunar' landscape some 2000 metres above sea level in the Swiss alps. The shot was taken while walking between the Alp Grum and Ospizio Bernina stations.
