Tegernsee is at the end of a branch line heading south from Munich towards (but not over or through) the Alps. On 9th October 1985 it is in private ownership with a passenger service seen standing at Schaftlach, the junction with the DB network, in the charge of TegernseeBahn No. 14, a diesel Bo-Bo locomotive of the type MaK - G 1203 BB delivered in 1982.
