An unidentified WCR Class 47 is the substitute for steam on this West Somerset Steam Express to Minehead seen powering through Hungerford on 13th September 2025. Without the need for water the special had unexpectedly been dispatched 12 minutes early from Newbury ahead of the on-time GWR Penzance express, which it should have been following. This advantage had already been lost, with inevitable consequences for the following train.
