Class 47/7 No. 47701 Saint Andrew in Scotrail livery waits to leave Glasgow Queen Street for servicing at nearby Eastfield MPD on 14th May 1985. Delivered new to Bristol Bath Road in February 1966 as D1932, renumbering under TOPS as 47493 in May 1974 came at the same time as conversion to an ETH loco. Push pull equipping and renumbering again to 47701 was in January 1979. At the time of this photo 47701 was allocated to Haymarket MPD and used mainly for the push pull Glasgow - Edinburgh services. Withdrawl came in December 2003 but preservation beckoned and currently, December 2013, 47701 is preserved on the Dartmoor Railway.
